The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the journey through which adults and older children prepare to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church. Whether you are unbaptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or a baptized Catholic seeking to complete the sacraments of initiation, OCIA provides a path of formation, prayer, and community.
Guided by the teachings of the Church, scripture, and personal reflection, OCIA at Good Shepherd Catholic Church is a welcoming and supportive experience for all who seek to deepen their faith and relationship with Christ. Through weekly sessions, participants explore Catholic beliefs, liturgy, sacraments, and moral teachings while developing a personal prayer life and encountering the living tradition of the Church.
The process culminates in the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist—at the Easter Vigil, where candidates are fully received into the Church. Along the way, sponsors, catechists, and the parish community offer encouragement, support, and prayers.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the Catholic faith and the OCIA journey, we invite you to join us. All are welcome!
